A rained out Mother’s Day Mini in Newcastle

Solis Stories is currently just a sprightly 6 months old, and I decided to dive headfirst into its debut with a heartwarming Mother's Day mini shoot. Originally, I had this grand idea of an outdoor affair, complete with all the retro picnic vibes. But, alas, Mother Nature had other plans, dousing us with rain for a solid fortnight. I couldn't subject my lovely families to mud baths and mosquito bites!

So, I had to get creative. Tossing around a few ideas to bring the outdoors in, I quickly realised snagging a studio on short notice was a no-go. That's when it hit me – why not transform my own humble abode? My wrap-around veranda, snugly sheltered, became the makeshift set. And you know what? The cloudy sky actually worked in our favor, casting a dreamy glow on everything.

The end results? Absolutely magical. Seeing my families bask in the moment was pure joy. And I made sure to hustle those galleries out pronto, so every mumma had her cherished memories in hand come Mother's Day.

Lesson learned? Next time, let's have a Plan B ready to roll, loud and clear on the booking page. You never know when ol' Mother Nature might decide to rain on your parade!
